5 Basic Math Tricks

Hello friends,

Now a days we have become so much dependent on the mechanical devices that we have almost forgotten how to use our mind. We need calculator or mobile to do all our calculation, which do it for us faster but this prolonged lack of mental activity leads to the untimely death of our precious Brain cells. In the long run it results in more serious neurological disorders like Alzeimer's. In olden days, some people could calculate faster than us and our calculator. So, start doing basic and small calculation by own without the help of any  mechanical device to activate your brain cells.

here are some basic math tricks

1)The 11 Times Trick

take the original number and imagine a space between the two digits( in this example we will use 61)

example 61*11

6_1

Now add the two numbers together and put them in the middle.

6_(6+1)_1

That is it- you have the answer:671

If the numbers in the middle add up to a 2 digit number, just insert the second number and add 1 to the first:

example 88*11

8_(8+8)_8

(8+1)_6_8

968

2)Quick Square

If you need to square a 2 digit number ending 5,you can do so very easily with this trick. Multiply the first digit by (itself+1), and put 25 on the end. That is all!

square of 25= (2*(2+1)) & 25

2*3=6

625

3)Multiply by 5

Take any number, then divide it by 2(in other words, halve the number). If the result is whole, add 0 at the end.If it is not, ignore the remainder and add a 5 at the end.it works everytime

3862*5= (3862/2) =1931

as it is whole number than add 0, your ans is 19310

3863*5= (3863/2)= 1931.5

as it is not a whole number than ignore remainder and add 5, your ans is 19315.

4)Subtracting from 1000

To subtract a large number from 1000 you can use this basic rule: subtract all but the last number from 9,then subtract the last number from 10.

1000-648

step 1: subtract 6 from 9=3
step 2:subtract 4 from 9=5
step 3:subtract 8 from 10=2

answer:352

5) Multiply 2 digit numbers

You can simply multiply any 2 digit number in just 3 second if you practice this trick
